Centred on the theme of "Home", the opening ceremony of the Lausanne 2020 Youth Olympic Games will be organized around 7 artistic tableaux and symbolic elements that epitomise the Olympic movement; this will include the lighting of the Olympic Flame, which will burn throughout the Games.
This ceremony will also be an opportunity to welcome all participating nations during the traditional parade of athletes. This will be the kickoff event of the Lausanne 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games and the starting point for 14 days filled with emotions.

Date and Schedule
The Opening Ceremony will be celebrated on January 9th, 2020 at the Vaudoise Aréna at 7:30 pm. The doors will open at 6:00 pm.

The opening ceremony is now sold out.
Transportation/access
Because our aim is to deliver responsible Games and because of the high turn-out expected, we encourage spectators going to the opening ceremony to travel to the Vaudoise Arena by public transport. Several options are available:
- Bus: tl lines 17, 18, 19, 32 or 33 - Galicien stop
- Train: CFF Prilly-Malley station
- Metro m1: Malley stop then a 10-minute walk

Public transport is included in the price of the ticket: it is possible to travel within all zones of the Mobilis network for three hours before and three hours after the ceremony. For more information about the Mobilis network, please visit: https://www.mobilis-vaud.ch/
People with disabilities
Dedicated places for people with disabilities are available in limited numbers for Frs. 59.- per place (accompanying personal care assistants are seated free of charge). For more information, please follow this link.
Our advice
For your comfort and that of other spectators, please come without bulky items (umbrellas, helmets) and use public transport. We also recommend that you dress warmly.
