Lausanne 2020 visiting the Haut-Lac school
Thanks to the initiative of Georgina Shepherd, a young student at the Haut-Lac International Bilingual School in St-Légier, some 300 students and teachers spent a morning dedicated to sport and Olympism!
Georgina Shepherd, 16 years old, explains:
"On the morning of the 1st May 2019, the President of the Lausanne 2020 Organising Committee Virginie Faivre came to present the Games at the International Bilingual School of Haut-Lac in St-Légier.
I organized this event to promote Lausanne 2020 and introduce my school to the behind the scenes of the project, especially among international students. A year ago, I had the opportunity to do a one-week internship with the Committee and loved the initiative and enthusiasm for these Games. I personally do a lot of sport, especially football and top-level skiing, and the YOG is therefore an event in which I am very interested.
Virginie Faivre and her team came to Haut-Lac, where I arranged with the school a large room to accommodate 300 people, students and teachers. Virginie Faivre made an enriching presentation that was very enjoyable, and she finally revealed the mascot Yodli! We were able to take pictures with Yodli and the students, and also with the Haut-Lac mascot: Bernie. Everyone was delighted with this morning, and we thank Virginie Faivre and her team very much for their presence!"
