Olympism at the heart of the Romandie masonry championship

Thirteen young masons from the French-speaking part of Switzerland took part in the Romandie masonry championship at the end of 2017. Within 21 hours, they had to make a complex brick object which, for this edition, evoked the 2020 Youth Olympic Games. The Fédération vaudoise des entrepreneurs effectively placed Lausanne 2020 and Olympism at the heart of this competition since the young apprentices had to build a wall including the Olympic flame.

Since Lausanne 2020 wants to organise Games for, by and with the youth, the Organising Committee involves apprentices of the Swiss professional sector as much as possible in the preparation of the event. These apprentices are in charge of, among other things, building the podiums for the Games and the Olympic cauldron.
