A brand new snowpark was inaugurated in Leysin, a ski resort in the Vaudoise Alps, where the ski freestyle and snowboard events will take place in 2020. “The Leysin team has accomplished a huge job all year long. The snowpark construction, in particular the halfpipe, is a masterpiece signed by shaper Benjamin Ravanel and his team” explained Simone Righenzi, Head of Sports for Lausanne 2020.
Their remarkable job was rewarded by the presence of the FIS World Cup Junior freestyle ski and snowboard competition January 26th and 27th, 2019. “The Leysin team adapted very well to the changing conditions brought on by unpredictable weather. Changes were made in the program in order to guarantee that all the different competitions could take place” added Simone Righenzi.
Positive feedback from the FIS as well as international coaches and athletes, confirmed the new status of the Vaudoise ski resort… clearly positioned in the freestyle panorama and ready to host the Games and its rising stars!
