Olympians Meet School Students

Lausanne 2020 and Paris 2024 have recently signed a collaboration agreement to work together hand in hand on different projects including youth engagement. In this context, 250 students from Collège Saint-François de Sales in Dijon, France, took to the road to the Olympic Capital Lausanne in May. The students' programme included a visit of the Olympic Museum, presentations on Lausanne 2020 Youth Olympics and Paris 2024 Olympics as well as interactions with Olympians. Quentin Fillon Maillet, French biathlete and multiple medalist at the World Championships 2015, shared his impressions of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Games and showed his medals to the students. Cristobal Huet, Ambassador of Lausanne 2020 and winner of the Stanley Cup in hockey, spoke about his long career in sport, his Olympic experiences and the passion that drives him in sport. Precious moments were exchanged with the students!

The President of the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee, Tony Estanguet, declared "Our friendship, our proximity and our common vision with Lausanne 2020 on major topics such as sustainability, the environment and the commitment of people, have made this collaboration a reality. There are many areas of work with obvious synergies such as action in education that we are going to roll out in Switzerland and France during the run-up to our respective events."

Lausanne 2020 looks forward to this continuing and fruitful collaboration!
