At the end of September, a Vaud delegation visited Les Tuffes in Les Rousses (2020 Youth Olympic Games competition venue) in order to exchange with the representatives of the national education, youth and sports department of the French Jura. The discussions were focused on youth engagement and aimed at identifying the various projects that could foster a new collaboration between France and Switzerland. The Vaud delegation was composed of representatives of the Vaud Department for mandatory (DGEO) and post-mandatory (DGEP) Education.
This first session provided an opportunity to discover the different French and Swiss projects related to youth engagement and helped to determine which projects have a binational dimension. Radiobus, linguistic exchanges or twinning arrangements between schools of the Canton of Vaud and France are perfect examples of future collaboration between the two regions. And the aim is clear: to enable Swiss and French pupils to exchange before, during and perhaps even after the Lausanne 2020 Youth Olympic Games around this unifying event and the Olympic values that it promotes.
