Discover the ten favourite "Lausanne En Jeux!" activities of Lausanne Tourisme

A week after the Lausanne en Jeux ! pre-programme release, Lausanne Tourisme reveals its 10 favourite events, not to be missed during Lausanne 2020. From a unique urban show called BodyCity to sports initiations, through an entire building dedicated to digital arts and games, you will be more patient after having discovered this selection. The whole programme will be released the 10th December. 

BODYCITY

An innovative urban show, a coming-together of sports and urban arts, a multidisciplinary creation bringing together a line-up of young performers and creators from Lausanne associations and schools.

BODYCITY is:

- a multidisciplinary creation emblematic of 21st century art with open, cosmopolitan and hybrid practices

- an innovative show, contemporary in its form, entirely based on the interaction of images and bodies, which is an interrogation of the relationship of the younger generations with the city

- a coming-together of the arts and urban sports (Parkour, skateboarding, bmx, rollerblading and scooter)

- 50 young performers recruited from associations (La Fièvre, Xtreme-Move and JDS) and local schools (Rudra Béjart)

- a line-up of young designers from regional schools (HEMU and ECAL)

- an open-air setting that will be the scene of a wealth of hypnotic images

eSpace Arlaud

Workshops, exhibitions, conferences and spectacular events around video games and digital fair play.

During the Lausanne 2020 Youth Olympic Games and as part of Lausanne en Jeux!, the eSpace Arlaud is transformed into a place of reflection and discovery around playful practices, digital cultures and sporting performance: the eSpace Arlaud. The four floors of this historic site host a permanent exhibition dedicated to video games, mainly local, as well as a programme of workshops, conferences and shows highlighting the dynamism of training locations and regional associations.

Exhibition "We are Olympians, and you?"

Athletes are at the heart of the exhibition and its accompanying activities. Ambassadors for the Olympic values, they share their experiences with the visitors, who are invited to become everyday Olympians. In each of the three sections of the exhibition route, multimedia installations tell stories of lives, excellence, friendship and suffering, allowing visitors to get to the heart of the athletes’ personal journeys.

SPORTS INITIATIONS

Initiation to the luge in the heart of Lausanne

Invented in Switzerland, the luge was one of the first sports to appear on the Olympic Games programme. The event, managed and supervised by the International Luge Federation, will enable participants to discover this mythical sport and even try it out thanks to various fun activities.

Initiation to climbing under the Grand-Pont

Created and built to measure for the occasion, an imposing climbing wall will be erected under an arch of the mythical Grand-Pont de Lausanne. This unique structure will allow participants to try their hand at climbing while at the same time offering great thrills to more adept climbers.

Initiation to ski mountaineering

Enrolled in the Youth Olympic Games for the first time in its history, ski mountaineering has the wind in its sail.Discover this unique practice on the slopes of Lausanne. A synthetic track will be set up over 100 meters, and the workshop created by the International Ski Mountaineering Association will allow everyone to try this sport.
