"An undeniable heritage"
Lausanne 2020 is proud to partner with the Verdeil Foundation to bring to life a day of sharing.
At a press conference at the Maison du Sport International in Lausanne, the Verdeil Foundation, which welcomes and educates more than 800 children, pupils and young people in difficulty situations in the canton of Vaud, presented a rich and varied program to celebrate its 60th anniversary. The opportunity to talk about one of the flagship projects of this jubilee, the day Hiverdeil, to which Lausanne 2020 is associated.
On Thursday, March 22nd, more than 1200 participants (pupils, collaborators, volunteers and guests) will take part in a special day of over 30 sports activities called Hiverdeil in the station of Les Diablerets. Under the banner of respect, friendship and excellence, the three Olympic values, 500 Verdeil students will push their limits in discovering classic and innovative sports. They will be helped and supported by more than 100 young middle school students from the secondary school of Epalinges. This collaboration is part of various projects carried out by the Directorate General for Compulsory Education for the Lausanne 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games.
