So while the level of women’s sports is constantly increasing, the Tuffes stadium host site of Lausanne 2020, will host a fast-growing discipline, the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, from 14 to 16 December 2018. The brand new springboard, inaugurated during the French Championship last winter, is ideal for the women’s practice, with it’s intermediate size of 90 meters.
With about fifteen nations and more than fifty athletes, ski jumping, still relatively unknown until some years ago, is gaining momentum thanks to the last Olympics and many nations are betting that it is going to keep gaining popularity.
The best jumpers in the world will be present for this competition – some of them will surely have the pleasure of climbing up on the podium “at home”. Indeed, the French athletes are not left behind because Léa Lemare, Lucille Murat and Julia Clair are among the world’s top 30 and are constantly improving. So let’s just say that the low media coverage of this women’s sport is now a thing of the past!
